CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt could be coming soon to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Gematsu on Twitter discovered that the Game of the Year Edition of the acclaimed RPG was rated for both consoles by PEGI. This seems to indicate that it will release soon, perhaps as a stealth drop of sorts.
The current-gen version promises numerous “visual and technical improvements” including faster loading times. Ray tracing will also be supported and it’s a safe bet that 60 FPS and/or 4K resolution modes are also being added. The update is being handled by Saber Interactive which also worked on the Nintendo Switch port of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition.
While the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions (along with the upgraded PC version) can be purchased standalone, current owners on Xbox One, PS4 and PC will receive the update for free. Stay tuned for more details on a proper release date in the meantime. Current-gen upgrades are also in the works for Cyberpunk 2077 but the company couldn’t guarantee that they would ship this year.
