Nintendo Switch Update Adds Bluetooth Audio at Long Last

It’s a little ridiculous that a device like the Switch doesn’t have Bluetooth audio support in 2021, though honestly, it was just as ridiculous that it didn’t have it back when it launched in 2017. That said, as ever, Nintendo has caught up – if a little too late – with basic connectivity functionalities.

The Nintendo Switch’s most recent update has, at long last, included the ability to pair Bluetooth devices for audio output, and can be enabled in the System Settings menu. Up to 10 devices can be paired at a time, though this is for audio output only, which means Bluetooth microphones cannot be connected. Meanwhile, Bluetooth audio will also be disabled if you’re playing local wireless multiplayer.

In other Switch news, it recently got a slight price cut in Europe and the UK, its first since launch, though Nintendo has said that it doesn’t have any plans for similar price drops in North America.
